All the news from your C Ward councillor - and candidate for Mayor of Hornsby

I'm running for Mayor. Meet my team!

Four years as your councillor, and the fire in my belly burns as strongly as ever: I want to continue to serve our community and fight to protect where we live. So I am standing for election to C Ward and for Mayor.

Hornsby Shire needs a mayor who is accountable, committed and in touch. I love Hornsby Shire. And I have proven just how hard I will work to protect it.

People often say to me: You’re the can-do councillor. We want more councillors who are dedicated to our area.

So I am extremely proud to announce that alongside me will be local residents Tania Salitra and Monika Ball. Tania (A Ward candidate) and Monika (B Ward) are in touch with what’s happening locally. They are principled.

And they share my vision for our Bushland Shire where everyone’s kids and grandkids get to enjoy a good life and a healthy environment.

Westleigh & the Quarry: your say on the plans

 Hornsby Park
The Hornsby Park (Quarry) draft master plan builds on previous consultation, where we asked the community for their high-level ideas on what they would like to see, do and experience at the park.

The draft master plan now sets out details on the types of suitable uses and activities that could be delivered by Council. The community is again invited to provide feedback on the draft master plan and the types of uses you’d like to experience on the site.

Westleigh Park

The plans for the former Sydney Water site include a range of active and passive recreation opportunities. Examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • community-based sport
  • opportunities for school and club athletics
  • cycling and mountain biking
  • informal exercising and walking
  • children’s playground
  • bushwalking, and
  • passive recreation such as picnic areas.

The draft master plan proposes three sports fields that have been designed to work within the surrounding bushland vegetation along with improved road access.

Find information on both sites here: https://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/council/noticeboard/your-say/have-your-say-content/current-exhibitions

Submissions must be received by 2 June

Keeping our climate safe
Ask Hornsby Council to use clean electricity by signing the petition here. Currently Council uses 100% dirty coal powered energy. All of our kids deserve to know that we are working our hardest to give them a safe future.

Stay safe, well & warm!
