MAY - JUNE 2024

As your representative on the council, I wanted to provide you with an update on our recent activities and progress.

Council Engagement

Over the past few weeks, I have collaborated closely with my fellow council members to address various local issues that directly impact our community. Our collective efforts have been both rewarding and enlightening, allowing us to gain valuable insights into the concerns that matter most to our residents.

Resident Correspondence

During this period, I received a total of 23 emails from local residents, each expressing their grievances and sharing their perspectives. I took it upon myself to advocate for these issues during council meetings, and I’m pleased to report that we successfully resolved 15 of them. The remaining matters are currently undergoing due process and are receiving the attention they deserve.

Winter Well-Being

As we navigate through the winter season, I encourage everyone to stay warm and comfortable. Our community’s well-being remains our top priority, and I am committed to actively working towards its improvement.

Promised and Delivered - Ron Payne Oval

We’re thrilled to announce the fulfilment of our election promise: the completion of the Ron Payne Oval facilities ahead of schedule, just as we pledged.

Outrage that the NSW Government will no longer fund the development of our much-needed sporting and recreational facilities at Westleigh Park.

We were granted $90 million from the previous state government for the creation of vital facilities at Hornsby and Westleigh, as compensation for the loss of a large part of the southern territory of Hornsby Shire to the City of Parramatta in 2016 and we have been working diligently on consultation and delivery of the projects for the last five years.

If you feel passionately about this issue, we encourage you to write as a community member to the Premier for New South Wales, the Minister for Sport, the Minister for Local Government, the Minister for Planning and your local member.

You can find more information about the issue and our response, on our website:
