Mayor’s message

As we welcome a new year, we're filled with optimism for the opportunities 2025 will bring to our community. Our dedicated staff are already hard at work delivering the projects and initiatives outlined in Council’s 2024-27 Delivery Program.

Coming together as a community is always uplifting, and Australia Day holds special significance for me. It’s a time to reflect on our nation’s history, including the legacy of its First Nations Peoples, and to honour the rich cultural diversity that shapes our identity.

We look forward to celebrating with you!

Before your visit

Dropping off excess recycling this summer?

January is one of the busiest times of year at the Community Recycling Centre. Make sure you prepare for your visit and get sorted before you drive to ensure a smooth visit.

Or visit the Household Recycling Drop Off at Mount Kuring-gai. Drive in to drop off excess mixed recycling, flattened cardboard, and eligible Return and Earn containers. Open 24/7.

STAY BATTERY SAFE THIS SUMMER

Never bin your batteries

Binning your batteries is a fire risk and is harmful to people and the planet

Batteries can never be placed in any of your household bins. They contain harmful materials inside, and can spark and cause fires in collection trucks or at waste facilities.

When your battery is used up, tape the terminals with clear sticky tape
Store your used batteries in an open container like an old glass jar
Take your batteries to your nearest battery recycling drop-off point
