$322M contract awarded for PLR Stage 2 |
Parramatta
Light Rail Stage 2 is one step closer, with contract awarded to deliver
the first 1.3-kilometre section of the project, including the
construction of a 320-metre bridge over the Parramatta River. Design and
early works for the project will begin later this year, with major
bridge construction to begin in 2025. |

Council
is inviting feedback on the design for Shannons Paddock playground with
timber poles and ropes course, a climbing wall and features younger
children will love. Feedback closes at 5pm on Tuesday 22 October 2024. |

Join us for UNSW Gateway Admission Pathway info session |
9 October 2pm-3pm
Join
us at Parramatta Library for a one-hour session to inform Year 11 and
12 students and families about early entry opportunities and support
with UNSW. The session will be presented by current university
students and will cover eligibility criteria, benefits and opportunities
provided by Gateway, including adjusted ATAR requirements and financial
support. |
HSC de-stress: Learn to meditate |
9-23 October
Catering
to young people (16+), Parramatta Library will be running a session
focused on teaching mindful meditation, techniques to calm your mind,
reduce anxiety, and improve focus. |

Get ready for summer at Lake Parramatta |
Lifeguards return to Lake Parramatta from Saturday 26 October
and locals can again enjoy their favourite nature walks with a swim to
cool off. Among the upgrades is a Lifeguard platform and a
gently-sloping ‘beach entry’ to make entering and exiting the water
easier. Lifeguard patrols are limited, please check our website before
visiting. |
Look out for your FOGO caddy being delievered! |
Your
FOGO kitchen caddy and compostable liners will be delivered to your
doorstep into the lead up to November. Remember to not put food wase in
your green lid FOGO bin until 11 November when the FOGO service begins. |

Our
vibrant Parramatta Square and Centenary Square are now smoke and vape
free zones. Visited by thousands of workers, commuters, students and
families each day, our beautiful Squares are set to become healthier,
more welcoming spaces for all. |

'Love your local' business along the Parramatta Light Rail |
Love
your local is a six-week campaign, supporting businesses along the
Parramatta Light Rail alignment. Each week, 10 lucky people will win a
$100 voucher each to spend at a participating local business. Snap a
photo of, or a selfie with, your favourite local business, and email it
along with the business name. |
