Roberts will lead us to the old Fairyland Pleasure Ground ... a nice
gentle walk for a Sunday! Fairyland was a former recreation and picnic
area on the Lane Cove River. We will discuss both the history and the
future, including the environmental impact and future restoration of the
site.

Talk on the future of bushland management (no need to book)
Dr
Peter Coad will discuss bushland, bushfire and waterway management in
Hornsby. He will explore novel approaches and how technology such as
environmental DNA monitoring, drones and digital twins have potential to
assist in managing these precious areas.

Forum on synthetic vs natural turf
STEP is a member of the Natural Turf Alliance
which was formed in 2021 to support communities advocating for natural
turf open spaces and sporting fields using best practice design and
maintenance.
The
Natural Turf Alliance has organised a team of experts to talk about the
pros and cons of the contentious issue using synthetic turf or natural
