Mayor Esber has helped to shape Parramatta over 20 years as a
Councillor. He looks forward to leading our City through the next

Recruiting for the Parramatta Light Rail Advisory Committee |
City
of Parramatta is recruiting new members to the existing Parramatta
Light Rail (PLR) Stage 2 Advisory Committee to help support our ongoing
work with Transport for NSW to ensure the PLR project delivers the best
outcomes for our community. Learn more and submit your application by 3:30pm, Friday 13 October. |

already consulted extensively with our First Nations and non-First
Nations community, the City of Parramatta is now ready to publicly
exhibit the draft First Nations Strategy and is inviting feedback on the

Draft Parramatta Flood Study |
Council
has been investigating flooding across our local government area and
has produced a Draft Flood Study which uses the latest technology to
model flood events and produce maps showing areas where flooding may
occur. Check to see if your home could be affected and provide feedback
by 5pm, Monday 30 October. |

Hunts Creek Wayfinding System Upgrade nearing completion |
The
Hunts Creek Wayfinding System Upgrade in North Rocks and Carlingford is
nearing completion. Upgrades include new signage along the walking
track at the Pemulway Loop (Third Settlement Reserve). Visit our website

Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2 funding |
PLR
Stage 2 is one step closer with an additional $200 million allocated in
the 2023-24 NSW Budget. Stage 2 is a critical transport link that will
connect the Parramatta CBD to Sydney Olympic Park via the growing
communities of Camellia, Rydalmere, Ermington, Melrose Park and
Wentworth Point. |

The Voice referendum will be held on Saturday, 14 October.
Australians will vote on whether we should change the Constitution to
recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing a body called
the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. Voting is compulsory
for all eligible Australian citizens. Be ready for the
conversation. |

Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 project leads sustainability |
The
Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 project won the ‘Outstanding Achievement –
Sustainability Leadership’ at this year’s Infrastructure Sustainability
Council Awards. Sustainability initiatives that contributed to the win
included the project’s delivery of the first green track for a NSW light
rail project, to provide urban cooling benefits and improve
biodiversity. |

Our Sustainable School Grant Program is now open |
City
of Parramatta is providing $35,500 worth of funding to schools within
the City of Parramatta local government area, to increase uptake of
Kitchen Garden Programs, cycling programs, biodiversity-based citizen
science projects, improved school ecosystems, and incursions/excursions.
