The Wharf Revue – 17-19 March A pitch-perfect concoction of sketches, songs and satire, The Wharf Revue returns to Riverside, 17 – 19 March. Join the regular crew Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe and Phil Scott – along with their figurehead of talent, Mandy Bishop – as they bravely voyage to the bottom of the barrel. Autumn Racing Carnival Longines Golden Slipper Day – 19 March Celebrate with champagne at pop-up bars, dazzle with a dash of gold in the Longines Prize for Elegance fashion competition, listen to DJs and enjoy Sydney’s finest street food vendors. Stakes Day – 26 March Sample your way through the delights of the inaugural ‘Taste of the Southern Highlands’ festival Rosehill Gardens, cheer on a winner and celebrate with friends. Seniors Week 2022 This year, the NSW Seniors Festival runs from Friday 25 March to 3 April. To celebrate Seniors Week, Community Care in collaboration with Active Parramatta will be running a variety of free activities. Project updates Parramatta Light Rail achieves NSW first milestone The Parramatta Light Rail team reached a major achievement with turf being laid along Robin Thomas Reserve for the first light rail green track in NSW. Across the CBD, there is ongoing road, footpath, gutter, kerbing and landscaping work. Visit weekly works schedule or changed traffic conditions for the latest updates. Artist impression of the new Charles Street Square Charles Street Square upgrade Construction is commencing on the new Charles Street Square – designed as a gathering place that celebrates our river and provides an improved connection from the foreshore to the City’s edge via attractive terraces connected by stairs and ramps. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the 12-month construction. PHIVE (5 Parramatta Square) Expressions of Interest City of Parramatta is seeking expressions of interest from the First Nations community to participate in a PHIVE (5 Parramatta Square) First Nation Opening Ceremony. The opening program is scheduled to be delivered in July 2022. Expressions of interest close Friday 18 March. Programs and activities Autumn School Holiday Program The Autumn School Holiday Program is fast approaching and will feature exciting activities for the whole family to enjoy. Registrations open on Monday 28 March. Road safety online workshop Council is running a free online workshop which shares practical advice on how supervisors of learner drivers can help learners become safe drivers.
