Parramatta Light Rail update 

The Parramatta Light Rail is expected to open in 2023. To deliver this project on time, there will be changed traffic conditions in the Parramatta CBD throughout May and June to allow for construction work. Road closures include intersections on Macquarie Street and Charles Street.

Newly upgraded tennis courts at Gallery Gardens: open for bookings

Council has partnered with the NSW Government to refurbish the tennis courts at Gallery Gardens in Old Toongabbie.

Upcoming exhibition: DPOP 

Council invites your feedback on the Draft Operational Plan and Budget 2021/22.

The plan, known as Year Four of the Delivery Program 2018-2022, details how Council will implement its core services, activities, programs and projects in the next financial year.

Council is seeking your feedback on the Heart of Play masterplan design, the blueprint for a North Parramatta sporting and recreation network. Join us at one of four information sessions:

Tuesday 18 May 2pm - 5pm at Doyle Ground (near kiosk)

Free Bollywood Dance and Activities for Over 55s

Council and Transport for NSW have extended their promotion, which gives visitors free parking at the City Centre and Eat Street car parks. To receive a free parking voucher, spend $20 or more at a participating business.

The future of Melrose Park North

Have your say on the Planning Proposal, draft site-specific Development Control Plan and Planning Agreement for Melrose Park North.

The precinct will provide a functional blend of high-density residential, open space, retail and commercial uses, and a new school. Public exhibition closes at 5pm, 24 May.

Parramatta Road – Australia’s oldest highway

Tracing an ancient track used by the First Peoples, Parramatta Road was adopted by colonists as the predominant land crossing between the settlements of Sydney Cove and Parramatta.

By the twentieth century, Parramatta Road became known for its abundance of motor vehicle-related businesses, including the well-known ‘Auto Alley’.

Free Community Solutions workshops  

Council’s free Community Solutions workshops will take place online on the 20 and 27 May, with co-founder of social enterprise ‘Good for the Hood’ Jo Taranto.

Jo has worked with ABC's War on Waste and Fight for Planet A: Our Climate Challenge and has helped communities all over Australia to take action and make cleaner, kinder and more sustainable choices.

Are you looking to lodge your Council requests quickly and easily online?

With Council’s new and improved Online Services Portal you can update your details, make a payment, apply for a certificate or submit requests like reporting illegally dumped rubbish, abandoned vehicles, or your missed bin services, plus much more.

Please note: since printed copies of  many of our local newspapers are no longer available, all Development Applications (DAs), items on exhibition, and public notices will now be available via Council’s website.
